Criminals attacked Hindu temples in Bangladesh

Dhaka: Crime attacks at least four Hindu temples, several shops and households belonging to a minority community in Khulna Bangladesh, encourage police to arrest ten people and improve media security in the area, according to media reports.
The incident took place on Saturday in Shiasi Village at the Upazila Rupsha following an altercation that was heated between Hindus and Muslim residents on Friday night, Dhaka TRIBUNE reported.
According to residents and local victims, the criminals first attacked Shiali Mahasmashan temple.
They harm idols at temples and crematoriums.
From there, they went to the Shiasi Purbapara area, where they harmed the idols of the gods and Hindu Dewi on the day of the mandir, Durga Mandir and The Govinda Mandir, said the report.
Six stores and two houses members of the local Hindu community were also damaged, he said.
Krishna Gopal Sen, Secretary General of Rupsha Upazila Puja Udjapan Parishad, said that at least 10 idols in four temples were damaged during the attack.
“There is high tension in this area now.
But the local government works to maintain the overall situation under control,” said Sen.
Some locals claim the attackers came from neighboring Sheikhpura, Blamang, and Chadpur.
But their identity cannot be confirmed.
Additional police forces were deployed in the area to safeguard law and order as tensions rising after the attack, the police officer said Rupsha-in-Sardar Mosharraf Hossain.
“We are alert and active to keep the situation under control,” Hossain said.
