Thiruvananthapuram: The pettah police on Friday recorded the arrest of a famous criminal on charges of experiments the murder of the police by throwing coarse explosives.
The police identified the defendant as an anilkumar aka Jango Kumar, 37, from Vinayaka Nagar in Kochu Veli.
The crime allegedly took place on Thursday night around 10pm in the page colony of goods in Kochu Veli.
The officer who faced the attack included Pettah Pathheesh sub-inspector and his subordinates.
A team of police officers led by Si reached the colony after receiving complaints from residents here that the anilkumar terrorized local residents using raw explosives.
They were attacked while trying to arrest the defendant.
Fortunately, no officers suffered a serious injury in the attack.
Anilkumar, the perpetrators are known to have committed a similar violation in the past too.
A year ago, an officer who was bound to the Petta police station was injured in a similar attack on him using explosives.
Udayakumar officers suffered hearing loss after defending injury in one of his ears.
Anilkumar was arrested in the case and only a few weeks ago he was released from prison with a guarantee.
The defendant has been produced before the court on Friday and returned in the custody of the judiciary.
