Thane: The long-seven-foot Indian Marsh crocodile was seen inside the Suraj Water Park in Thane City on Thursday morning.
It was then saved safely by the Association Activist Resqink for Wildlife Welfare (RAWW).
The crocodile was first taken to the Sanjay Gandhi National Park for examination, and then declared suitable for liberation in the wild.
“Adult male crocodiles were considered by several Suraj Water Park workers earlier on Thursday.
Our members Joaquim rose, Safe Singh, Omsi Para, Anil Bhalerao, Ajay Kanojiya, and I rushed to a place to save the crocodile carefully.
The Range Forest Officer (RFO) of Wing Territory Thane, Narendra Muthe is also present because it helps in rescue, “said Pawan Sharma Raww.
Assistant Commissioner (Wildlife) in SGNP, Dr.
Shailesh Pete, told Tii, “during heavy rain, Marsh crocodile India can explore remotely in the forest area, and sometimes entering the urban area.
There are also several waterways close to the water park, So this semi-thesis reptile can travel through waterways.
“The Raww team will survey the area in Thane to understand where the crocodile might enter into a water amusement park, which is currently closed because of the ongoing pandemic.
