Crocodiles are still difficult to understand, official exercise carefully

Nagpur: Crocodile ‘Camera Shy’ at the Spell of the Nag River near Gawalipura continues to avoid wildlife officials on Tuesday.
There were no other sightings reported by residents too.
After the crocodile photos and videos in certain places it became viral, wildlife officials have tried to see first and then look for plans to arrest him.
Kundan Hate, Warden Honorery Wildlife, said, “From the beginning, our team was there but no one saw a crocodile.
We will continue to look for a few days before deciding the next step.” Trying to the assumption that the crocodile is still in the same area, Hati said Rescuers must be executed with many treatments.
“The crocodile is very dangerous in water, so to catch it while there are still very risky ones.
We strive to coordinate with NMC officials and other institutions to see whether the water level can be reduced to this particular patch,” Hate said.
He added that if the water dries here, then officials can think of capturing crocodiles.
To captivate the crocodile from the waters with bait is non-starter, said hate.
“Definitely get enough food in the water.
Animal carcasses regularly flow through these waters and crocodiles partying on anything.
In such a scenario, the bait option will not work,” Hate said.
Some theories arise where crocodiles may originate.
The dominant is it comes from pest.
“About 20 years ago, the crocodile was introduced in the backwaters there.
From there to Totladoh, to Gorewada and then through wastewater waste, it might have landed here,” Hate said.
He said a few decades ago, officials working on the Maharajbagh campus have also seen crocodiles on the Nag River.
“So, it might be the old migration route for them,” Hate said.
