CRSC requested Metro Authority for parking plans on AHD

Ahmedabad: City Road Safety Council (CRSC) has directed Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation limited to form a committee consisting of AMC officials, traffic police, and RTO to decide on adequate parking facilities for the metro station.
CRSC asked the Metro Authority to place the ‘Park and Up’ program that was being implemented in Delhi.
CRSC requested the Metro Authority to submit their detailed parking plan, because this service could be a potential lifeline for the city.
Commissioner with Police (traffic) Mayssinh Chavda said, “The Board asked the AMC and Metro authorities to identify the parking space, so that people can park and enter the metro.
CRSC has asked the Metro Authority to form a committee for this as soon as possible.” Officials, Requesting not to be named, saying that if they cannot provide parking facilities near the Metro station, the authorities must arrange facilities to take passengers to the station.
“Unless we provide adequate parking facilities, Metro services will not be successful,” he said.
The meeting was attended by officials from roads and buildings, Auca, AMC, trains, GMRC, AMTS, and subject experts.
GMRC officials did not comment on this problem.
The Consultative Committee also directs AMC to reduce the size of the roundabout to smooth the flow of vehicles.
The committee even asked the AMC to ensure that the road divider extended on the main kite road on Jalan SG so that the vehicle could not take the U-round to exit with the wrong direction.
Traffic police note that motorists take U-round after getting off the flyover and this can cause an accident.
At the Pakwan Crossroads, during rush hour, the police were deployed to ensure that the vehicle was not playing wrong to come out.
At Pakwan Crossroads go to Gurudwara, where there is a way to enter the flyover of Thaltej, a vehicle that often uses it to go up to the side street.
In addition, AMC has been instructed to clean the debris and other materials lying under the flyover and parking lots are clear, especially in SG Road.
More officers said that the committee also asked Amc and Auda to design bridges that could accommodate parking under them.
AMC officials were asked to ensure that the damaged road divider, such as the airport and in Juhapura Road must be repaired to prevent illegal rounds.
AMC has been asked to complete the earliest parking policy, price list and make it public.
CRSC asks for AMC, experts and other officials to suggest methods to reduce parking on the city.
