Bengaluru: A young man was arrested by the Cybercrime police who were investigating a group of cryptocurrency fraudsters who promised investors ‘land in the month’.
Police sources said criminals approached people who were seeking their investment in the Cryptocurrency business and also told investors that they would get soil in the month or higher refund as an advantage.
According to the police source, the money transferred by a woman bulaked by a cheater was credited to the suspect’s bank account.
The investigator hopes they can identify the main accused through the suspect.
The woman was approached by another woman on August 19 through a cellphone that introduced her as Uska Abubaqar, an expert in the Cryptocurrency business.
Uska asked the woman to invest Rs 45,700 to get a good return.
The woman transferred Rs 25,100 through Google Pay but later found that the promised advantage had never arrived and realized that she had been cheated.
The short changing woman wrote to the Commissioner’s office to tell how she was cheated by Cybercrooks and suspected that some people might have been cheated by the same gang.
Police Cybercrime registered the case on September 28 and picked up young men for interrogation.
