New Delhi: Secretary General of Congress Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Thursday released the first list of candidates for the upcoming Uttar Pradesh Assembly selection.
Overcoming Presser, Priyanka said that in the first list of 125 candidates, 50 candidates were women, including Asha Singh, the mother of the victims of Unnao rape.

“Of the total 125 candidates, 40% are women & 40% are young people.
With this historic initiative, we hope to bring new types of politics in satay,” he added.
Previously, Priyanka Gandhi announced that 40 percent of tickets would be given to women and have created slogans – ‘girls can fight’.
“We want to give the opportunity to those who have fought for their rights, so people will actually get the opportunity to fight for their purposes,” he said.
Priyanka said that political rights need to be given to women.
“The party has tried to change the country’s political narratives and want that there must be discussions about work, health, law and order and other women’s related problems,” he added.
He said the party would not run a negative campaign in this poll and instead would run a positive campaign for a bright future at Uttar Pradesh while highlighting the problems of society and women and development.
Taking about the Uttar Pradesh Government, he said, has been “dictatorial” and discussion in the sloping selection.
