The restaurant is the old client of mine and usually I give credit span of 90 days for my customers to pay me the invoices. I gave a grace period , however, the operator didn’t cover me.” Ganesh Shettythe president at the Pune Restaurants and also Hoteliers Association, told TOI,”The dispute arose when the wholesalers refused to carry the fresh raw material from your restaurant owners. Each restaurant purchases majority of raw material by the wholesalers online. The wholesalers offer credit only to individuals that are known to them” He explained,”Last year, all restaurants and eateries stayed closed for eight weeks through the lockdown and phased out relaxation interval. A number of these had used only part of their raw substance in their own stock. The natives could have readily removed the rest objects and sold thembut they refused to do this in several instances. A new round of closing this year has just made the things worse.” Popatlal Ostwal, president, Poona Merchants Chamber, stated,”The problem is extremely critical. The dealers have sent sausage and eatables worth crores of rupees and restaurants and resort operators have failed to make the payments in the last year. Even traders want money to live. We expect the restaurants and resorts will begin working shortly and we will get our dues from these.” A cafe operator, requesting anonymity, said that he needed to cover over Rs2 lakh to various wholesalers. “They’ve not taken actions against me since they understand me but I’m under a great deal of stress for this reason. I’m planning to sell my restaurant off at whatever cost I purchase and also clear that the dues when and for everyone,” he explained.
