Curbs removed: friendliness, relief entertainment sector

Bengaluru: Representatives of hospitality and entertainment expressed happiness over the government’s steps to lift weekend hours, although somewhat disappointed with the continuation of night hours.
The traveler said it was relief mostly because weekend business contributed most of their income and they lost it.
“We love the government respond positively to our request.
We promise that all hotels and restaurants will strictly adhere to Covid norms during working hours,” said PC Rao, President, Bruhat Bengalore.
The norm that limits into the hotel and restaurants up to 50% of the seating capacity is deterrent, but hospitators hope it will soon be relaxed with the third wave of pandemics which is expected to quickly recede after reaching its peak in one or two weeks.
Also, they were worried about the continuation of the night at night when the restaurant was forced to close at least one hour before the curfew kicked at 10 pm.
The pub owner and bar were disappointed because the relaxation of the weekend hours was not really helpful because they lacked a business hour peak because at night at night.
“We have asked the government to allow pubs and bars to open up to 11.
30 Afternoon as permitted in a license.
However, we are happy with the weekend curfew has been appointed,” said B Govindaraj Hegde, Secretary General, Karnataka Wine Association, Karnataka.
He said about 95% of 3,971 wine stores, 3,622 bars & restaurants, and 400 open pubs and the owner was very waiting for the government to lift the night at night.
The theater owner was also relieved that the show was allowed over the weekend.
“We don’t think too much about the norm of 50% now since the whole audience in the cinema is thin because of a pandemic.
Also, some theater lost the night show because of the night,” said KV Chandrashekhar, President, the Association of the Karnataka film exhibition.
He said producers were in demand and are now preparing to release their films.
To get started, the film ‘Ombutthane Maili’ will be released next week, while the release of a large budget film like ‘Rrr’, Sudeep-Starrer ‘Vikrant Rona’, ‘Kabja’ and Yashstarrer ‘KGF-2’ is in the pipe.
Only about 200 of the 630 Singlescreen theaters in Karnataka open, and Chandrashekar said more will be open next week.
