Gurgaon: The MCG has assigned the powers of management and monitoring of land tax, lease and exchange licences to concerted commissioners due to the very low income generated from such categories.
The zonal tax officers will work under the oversight of the joint commissioners and guarantee much better retrieval of arrears, stated MCG officials.
“Throughout the review meeting together with the extra commissioners and joint commissioners, it had been detected that the income below the head of land tax, lease and trade licences wasn’t inviting and arrears are all piling.
Small attempts have been made to recoup the arrears.
So, there’s a dire necessity to reevaluate the recovery of arrears,” browse the sequence issued by MCG commissioner Mukesh Kumar Ahuja.
MCG had estimated earnings of Rs 1,103 crore in the land tax in 2020-21 annually, but it may create just Rs 250 crore.
The earnings from property taxation from 2021-22 is projected to be Rs 1,235 crore.
The income from lease of shops and community centers has been likely to be Rs 3.62 crore in the past financial year, but could create just Rs 2.65 crore and this year’s earnings from the stores was projected at Rs 5 crore.
From the 2020-21 financial year, MCG had anticipated to create revenue of around Rs 15 crore in the trade license fee, but MCG could create merely Rs8.29 crore.
For 2021-22 the quote stands at Rs 12 crore.
