Curtail aspirin is used to prevent a heart attack 1 or stroke: US panel

New York: Doctors may no longer be routinely begin to prescribe a low-dose daily dose regimen for most people with a high risk of heart attack or stroke, according to the US conceptual guide by the US expert panel.
The proposed recommendation is based on the installation of evidence that the risk of serious side effects far exceeds the benefits of what was once considered a cheap weapon in the war against heart disease.
The US panel also plans to resign from the 2016 recommendations to bring baby aspirin for the prevention of colorectal cancer, a breakthrough guidance at the time.
Panel said newer data has raised questions about the benefits of putatives for cancer, and that more research is needed.
In the use of low doses or infants aspirin, recommendations by the US Preventive Service Task Force will apply to people who are younger than 60 at risk of heart disease.
The proposed guidelines will not apply to those who have taken aspirin or those who have experienced a heart attack.
The US Task Force also wants greatly from preventing anyone 60 and more than starting a low-dose aspirin regimen, quoting concerns about high risks related to life-threatening bleeding.
The previous panel recommended that the 60s people at high risk for cardiovascular disease consult their doctors to make decisions.
Proposal of the Task Force follows changes in the advice change by several leading medical organizations and federal institutions, some of which have recommended limiting the use of low-dose aspirin as a preventive tool for heart disease and stroke.
Aspirin inhibits the formation of blood clots that can block the arteries, but research has raised concerns that regular intake increases the risk of bleeding, especially in the digestive tract and brain, the danger increases with age.
“There are no more blanket statements that everyone increases the risk of heart disease, even though they have never experienced a heart attack, it must be in aspirin,” said Dr.
Chien-Wen Tseng, a member of the National Task Force which was a research director of family medicine and public health at the university Hawaii.
“We must be smarter in primary prevention that match the most profitable people and have the least risk of danger.” Research shows that increased risk of bleeding is relatively fast after a person starts using aspirin regularly.
“We don’t recommend anyone stop without talking to a doctor, and definitely not if they already have a heart attack or stroke,” he added.
