Yavatmal: Six police personnel, including officers of the PI Yeshwant Baviskar police station, have shifted from Darwha on Wednesday after the death of a young man’s custody on Tuesday.
Pi Yeshwant Baviskar and the Sunil Visputhe Sub Inspector have been transferred to the other fourth control room; Head of Constables Purusottom Bawane and Sanjay Mahurle, Constable Sachin Jadhav and the Sabbir Pappuwala driver have been transferred to the police headquarters, told Yavatmal SP Dr.
Dilip Patil Bhujbal here on Thursday.
“We have registered unintentional deaths under the part 176 CRPC in the complaint submitted by the deceased’s brothers,” Bhujbal said, adding that the initial investigation by SDPO Darwha had been ordered and a report expected in two days.
After receiving a question report, the action will be taken against prime facie guilty of death, Bhujbal said.
Police Commissioner Amravati Chandrashekhar Meena visited Darwha after the incident.
The investigation has been submitted to Cid and Cid SP Amok Gaonkar from Amravati also visited Darwha on Thursday and began an investigation.
The local Cid team will help him, SP said.
The city has returned to normal because community leaders have extended their cooperation to the police, who immediately helped peace and harmony, SP Bhujbal told TI on Thursday.
There was a fight between several youth in the Darwha City Railway Station area on Tuesday night.
This problem was brought to police notice and the team led by PSI Sunil Visputhe visited the place and took three young men, including victims of Sheikh Irfan, detained.
At the police station, the police beat the trio and one of them collapsed and died instantly.
The police rushed to the young man to the government rural hospital, where the doctor stated he was taken dead.
