Agra: The Muslim University of Aligarh (AMU) students issued a parade of protest on campus on Friday, demanding a high-level investigation into the death of Mohammad Altaf, 22, who died in police custody in the Kasganjer district earlier this week.
This is the second protest parade held on campus to demand justice for Alf.
The students also submitted a memorandum to President of RAM Nath Kovind through the University Administration, demanding that the investigation must be carried out by a judge sitting in the High Court.
Memorandum also seek exemplary punishment to guilty and compensate Rs 50 Lakh to relatives of victims along with government work to one of his family members.
The students issued a parade of protest under the “Justice for Alf” banner.
The protesters shouted anti-government slogans and demanded the death sentence for the Altaf killer.
Students urge the state government to not promote hatred in the state.
