Police said that the initial investigation revealed that the same number was used as a ‘customer care’ number of leading travel companies.
And some people were cheated from Lakhs in Assam through the same number as the excuse of booking tickets, police said.
“Everything that appears on the internet may not be true, people must call only customer care numbers displayed on the official website of a company,” said Police spokesman Subhash Boken.
