Cut Cross: Delhi Cabinet OKS RS 20K / Acre Ex Gratia

New Delhi: Delhi Cabinet on Friday approved the Relief Ex Gratia of Rs 20,000 per acre to farmers because they lose them because the rain was not season.
In a meeting chaired by the Chairman of the Minister of Arvind Kejriwal, the Cabinet observed that Delhi farmers faced major losses on their crops due to prolonged rain in September-October and had to be compensated.
The cabinet also provides a nod to the formula in which loss will be calculated.
In accordance with government assessment, farmers lose plants around 29,000 hectares of land.
“The Cabinet has given its approval to set aside Rs 53 Crore to be paid to farmers.
This step has confirmed that the Kejriawal government stands firm in supporting farmers in trouble,” said a government spokesman.
Officials say there is rain and water that is unrelenting in the fields, which leads to the overflow of nearby waterways that cause severe damage to the last plant.
“The chairman of the Minister of Arvind Kejriwal took awareness of this problem and judged that the assistance package for plant damage was needed for granted.
We sent a team to assess the damage made on the plant,” said an official.
Government officials said the Council of Ministers also agreed to the tariff where EX Gratia Relief would be paid.
“If losses are rated 70% or less, compensation will be at a level of 70%.
If losses are considered more than 70%, compensation will be paid at a 100% level,” said an official.
The Delhi government has paid compensation for the affected farmers in previous years as well, when the rain does not suddenly damage the plant standing.
