Chennai: The more high scores in class XII, thanks to the system weights followed, set to improve the cut-off sign for BCOM acceptance compared to last year, with the top universities in the city estimating a 1% -5% increase in all categories.
On Tuesday, After Arts and Science Colleges closed the online application for reception for the academic year 2021-22, the number fell by around 10% in most institutions.
But, college expects a cut-off increase for courses including B Com.
BSC (Psychology), BSC (visual communication) and BCA are the most preferred.
The application for science courses has fewer this year.
Acceptance of B Com is based on scores in four subjects other than language and English.
A list of achievements is based on the value printed from 400.
“In Dg Vaishnav College, Cut-off for the OC category for BCOM (auxiliary) is estimated at around 395 marks (98.75%) from 392 years ago.” For Shift-2, Cut- Off has increased by 5% for all categories from 340 years ago to 363 this year, “said Santhosh Baboo’s head.
In MCC, the cut-off for B Com was 97% last year.” This is 98% now, “said the principal Paul Wilson.
In the second shift, Cut-off for B Com (Accounting and Finance), Cut-off is 98%, 100% and 97% for the first three lists.
Universities receive the application in the 1:10 ratio for political science, economics and English literature and fewer applications for science.
“Some reasons can be an increase in interest in the technical course and decrease the number of applications from outside Tamil Nadu.” In Teacher Nanak College, Cut-off for the General BCOM was 91.5% last year.
“We hope it is around 96% of this year’s value,” said the Principal of MG Raghunathan, Adding that receipt has not been given to those who are less than 70%.
In Ethhiraj College for women, cut-off for BCUR is not expected to get off on the second and third list.
“The competition will be difficult,” said the Principal of Kothai.
At Loyola College, BSC (visual communication) requests also increase.
“For 100 seats, we receive 2,200 applications, around 22 applications per seat,” said Thomas Amirtham, the principal.
Demand for BSC (Psychology) is high at women’s Christian colleges.
“The number of applications increased three times for psychological courses compared to last year.
The cut-off sign was 393 of 400 marks (98.25%),” said Lilian Jasper, the principal.
Cut-off for B Com for Catifici General students is 390 marks on the first list.
