Nagpur: Atharv Anandewar, 19, the first year of the Polytechnic, rolled into the slopes in his bicycle to Lake Futala to end his life on Monday.
He previously spoke to his friends asking them to take care of his mother and also conveyed them about his decision to end life through conference calls.
Police Ambazari has bought CCTV footage of incidents where teenagers can be seen gradually moving on a bicycle to the slopes that lead to the lake.
There is a limit wall that keeps the lake, but has been withdrawn because of the ongoing renovation work.
The source said the mental disrupted woman’s car had also slid down the slope to the lake water from the same place.
Anandewar, who has a sightseeing with a group at a resort at Saoner Road on a day ago, surprised his friends by ending his life within 24 hours.
Previously took drastic steps, Anandewar had talked to friends, but did not reveal the reason behind ending his life.
Anandewar, living in Ambedkar Nagar in Control Wadi, is younger than two siblings.
His mother learned to protect a bicycle about a year ago.
His father worked at a tile factory at MIDC.
A friend, who rushed to smooth Anandewar after he delivered his decision, said he wanted to save his friend but did not know swimming.
“We have managed to reach Lake Futala, but he has taken a plunge,” said the friend.
“We can see it sink.
One of us even jumped into the lake, but it didn’t work.
Some of us also threw bamboo and board into the water for Atharv for the hook, but he immediately disappeared under water,” said the friend.
Senior Inspector Narendra Hiware from the Ambazari police station said the bicycle was arrested from the lake with the help of firefighting personnel.
“The body can be traced after a few hours and has been sent for postmortem,” he said.
Police Ambazari has registered the case as an accidental death.
