NEW DELHI: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday held a meeting Through video conference with All the chief ministers of Both Odisha Andhra Pradesh, West Bengal, along with the Lieutenant Governor of Andaman and Nicobar Islands to Examine preparations in view of cyclone Yaas.
The union home minister emphasized on the necessity to guarantee uninterrupted electricity supply to hospitals & Covid maintenance centers, particularly ICUs from the cyclone prone locations.
“Ensure power copy in hospitals using ICU for uninterrupted ventilator function/oxygen provide”, Amit Shah explained.
Security of about 2 dozen oxygen crops across the eastern shore, which provide oxygen to different nations also, must be a priority,” he added.
Amit Shah supplied all probable reinforcements in Centre as needed by the countries, such as Armed Forces along with para-military employees, NDRF teams together with relief and rescue equipment.
Earlier on Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a meeting with senior administration officials to assess the preparations for the upcoming cyclone Yaas.
Amit Shah had attended this meeting together with senior administration officials and agents in the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), Secretaries by Telecom, Power, Civil aviation, Earth Sciences Ministries to examine preparations against the coming cyclone Yaas.
The Armed Forces have also started preparations to mitigate the effects of the expected tragedy by airlifting 950 National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) employees throughout the nation, using 26 helicopters in standby for immediate installation.
According to a statement by the Ministry of Defence, 70 tonnes of tons has also been airlifted in Jamnagar, Varanasi, Patna and Arakonnam into Kolkata, Bhubaneswar and Port Blair at 15 Transportation Aircraft at May 23.
Cyclone Yaas is expected to hit coasts of Odisha and West Bengal on May 26, According to the India Meteorological Department.
