PATNA: The approaching Cyclone Yaas has begun giving nightmares into the maize growers at the nine north-eastern areas of Bihar. The two districts of southern and north Bihar to be struck adversely by Yaas are Purnia, Katihar, Kishanganj and Araria at Purnia branch, Saharsa, Supaul and Madhepura from the Kosi branch in Addition to Khagaria and the northern areas of Bhagalpur shore. According to the water resources section (WRD), the region comprising the two districts will see thunderstorm and prevalent to dispersed rain from Thursday to Saturday. “On Monday and Tuesday, the catchment regions of the Mahananda river at the northwestern terrain in Nepal seen around 35mm rain,” that a WRD official stated. Even the maize-growing farmers of these nine districts worried in southern and north Bihar are a lot. The whole swathe of property is known for maize cultivation. The farmers have just partially harvested the maize harvest till today.
