Nagpur: In the main encouragement for tourism and help curbs human-animal conflicts, the authority of the Central Zoo (CZA), a legal entity under the Ministry of Environment, forest monitoring zoos and climate change, rescue centers and safari, have provided green signals to set Tiger Safari and Rescue Center in Chandrapur.
The Mega project will appear on 210 hectares’ reserve forest land near Chandrapur Forest Academy in Mul Road.
It will include Tiger Safari in 44 hectares, bigger than the Tiger safari area in Gorewada (which is 25 hectares).
Other interesting places include posttrance plaza and tourist facilities, bird gardens and walking traces, and also rescue centers in 40 hectares.
The proposal was continued to CZA by Pension PCCF (wildlife) NH Kakodkar in July.
Master layout plans have been prepared by Ashfaque Ahmed Consultance Services Private Limited, who also designed the previous Gorewada Zoo safari plan.
According to the source of CZA, the plan was discussed in a meeting of 38 authorities held on November 16, 2021.
Agreement for the project in the supporting sector Tadoba-Andhari Tiger Reserve (TATR) was given on December 17, below the 38-H (1A) section of the Law Protection of wildlife (WPA), 1972, and can comply with the recognition of the 2009 Zoo Guidelines Arrested or saved as long as the conflict shifts for treatment and then stored in detention.
The Gorewada Support Capacity has exceeded and therefore there is a terrible need for such a project in Chandrapur.
Gorewada Division Manager Pramod Panchbhai said, “This is a welcome step.
We have 10 TIGER and 20 leopard cells, but have 11 tigers and 23 leopards.
This is than being released in Safari.
We have saved some leopards in monkey cells .
In an emergency, we can adjust some carnivores in small mammals Animals, which will allow donors to take advantage of the benefits of tax below 80C.
or take advantage of CSR funds.
“The rescue center will have a sophisticated animal hospital and 18 tiger cells, 12 for leopards, 12 sloth bear cells, and 28 for herbivores.
The center will also consist of quarantine cells, bird attachments and python, workshops, housing, and service blocks.
“Overall, the 126 hectare area will be used for the rescue center and safari, while the remaining 86 hectares will continue to reserve for future expansion.
The rescue center will also have a unique neonatal treatment center,” Kale said.
Wildlife State (SBWL) members of the Bandu Dhotre claimed that he had raised the problem of increasing the Chandrapur Treatment Center (TTC) at the 16th SBWL meeting held on December 4, 2020, which was agreed upon by the main Minister Uddhav Thackeray, which was directed to increase TTC in Chandrapur to the full rescue center.
“Safari and the rescue center will not only reduce the pressure on the Gorewada, but it will also run far in conservation.
Second, it will also increase tourism.
Some tourist surplus Tadoba can be transferred to Safari Tiger creating direct and indirect work for locals,” said Dhotre.
He added, “If the forest land is not used correctly, it is possible in the future, it can be transferred for non-forestry purposes or interrupts.” This will be the third safari like that in the state, the first is Sanjay Gandhi National Park (SGNP) in Borivli and the second Gorewada in Nagpur.
