Surat: Police arrested two 21-year-old young men who allegedly issued a threat to kill city textile traders if their request for RS 2 Crore Ransom was not fulfilled.
One of the accused was a worker at a complainant textile shop and he allegedly hatched the whole plan after his salary was not revised despite many requests.
Lokesh Singhvi, a textile entrepreneur, sent a package containing a threat letter that demands Tyhe Amont as a ransom, a stated gun, four cartridges and 14 photos on Thursday.
The gift was delivered by a 17-year-old boy paid Rs 20 for work with the duo.
While the police arrested Sagar Mahajan and Kiran Mahajan on Friday, they did not catch shipping children.
Sagar has worked at the Singhvi store for eight years, while his aide also works elsewhere.
According to the police, Sagar was upset with his employer because he was still paid RS10,000 despite working for more than eight years, while recruitment recently paid as much.
Recently, he asked for an advance of Rs 10,000 for his friend’s final rights, but his employer was allegedly making fun of him and mocking him with a statement that the dead would turn to life if he was present.
“The defendant felt offended and began planning to take revenge.
He saw several videos on the internet about sending a threat message and executing his cunning plan,” the police said.
Singhvi opened the box along with his brothers and contents making them afraid.
The box also contains photos of Singhvi, Agriculture, and some picture of extortion.
The defendant told the police that the name ‘D company’ was common and they used it.
“The defendant uses Google to write a threat letter and then take the printed outcome.
The police will act immediately after the crime is reported and it is resolved in a few hours,” said Police Commissioner Ajay Tomar.
