Mumbai: Bombay High Court on Thursday Allowed Vikram Bhave, a defendant in the case of the rationalist murder of Narendra Dabholkar, to travel to Ratnagiri to do his father’s last ritual, who died on June 25.
The court has provided a guarantee to the May Bail, but has directed it not to leave Pune City where the case was being tried.
The defendant submitted the application this week, looking for permission to travel to Ratnagiri so he could do his father’s last ritual.
The division bench from Judge S Shinde and J Jamadar on Thursday allowed Bhave to go to Ratnagiri for three weeks and direct it to appear in front of the local police station once a week.
The court also directed the accusations to report to the DECCAN police station at Pune for the return three weeks later.
Bhave was accused of helping other accusations – Sachin Andure and Sharad Kalavascar – who were allegedly shooting Dabholkar on August 20, 2013 at Pune, with recce of the spot and escaping after crime.
The CBI caught Bhave in case on May 25, 2019.
