Ahmedabad: Gujarat recorded 21 new Covid-19 cases in 24 hours ending at 5 pm on Friday.
It was after 23 days that the state recorded more than 20 cases everyday.
In addition, with the disposal of 13 patients, active cases rose 8 to 158 – the highest since August 25.
New cases include 5 from the city of Letters, each of Ahmedabad and Vadodara City, 2 of each of Devbhoomi Dwarka, Kutch and District Letters, and 1 of each of the Somnath, Navsari, Porbandar Gir and Rajkot Regency.
Case analysis revealed that about half of them (11) came from three major cities, while the rest (10) came from the district, showing a sudden surge in cases of non-urban areas.
