Daily Covid Caseload fell below 10k in Maharashtra

Mumbai: New Covid-19 cases fell below 10,000 in Maharashtra and under 600 in Mumbai on Sunday when the country entered the 700th day of life with Coronavirus novel.
Experts say this is a sign that the third wave ambition is not only in a larger district but even in smaller ones, which has seen a surge later.
Daily Covid reception in Mumbai fell below 100 for the second day in a row.
The state on Sunday reported 9,666 fresh covid cases, took the cumulative calculation of viral diseases to 78,03,700.
This is only the second example of 2022 that the state reported below 10,000 cases.
The last time it reported fewer cases on January 1 (9,170) when the third wave took speed.
The active case of the state fell to 1.18 lakh with more than 25,000 out of institutional and house isolation.
Mumbai also reported 536 cases on Sunday, the lowest detection in 44 days.
It has reported fewer cases (577) on December 23 when cases have just begun to increase by the spread of omicron.
As routinely seen in three waves, a drop in Mumbai was immediately followed by a drop in the entire Mumbai metropolitan area.
On Sunday, nearly 12% of cases in Maharashtra come from MMR.
About 31% of cases come from pune circles and 14% of Nashik circles.
Importantly, Covid’s death in Maharashtra remains stable at 66, down from 68 on Saturday and 81 on Friday.
Mumbai toll road also fell to three, the lowest in 25 days.
The current cumulative toll road has touched 1,43,074, including 16,661 in Mumbai.
Pune District was the first to cross 20,000 Covid-19 deaths in Maharashtra two days ago.
Dr Avinash Supe, who heads the Covid National Death Committee, said that the mortality rate for January reached 0.1%.
For comparison, 2.7% is the level of case fatality in the first wave and 1.8% in the second wave.
“Of course, the third wave is still ongoing in many districts but the mortality rate so far is far lower than the last two years,” he said.
He added that the profile of patients at high risk of death Covid continued to be parents and those who had comorbidity.
