MANGALURU: Daily cases of Covid-19 dropped in Dakshina Kannada on Friday, with 377 peope testing positive for the SARS-CoV-2 virus.
However, Covid-19 fatalities continued in the district, with 14 more deaths, taking the death toll to 1,122.
With 540 patients being discharged, the active cases in the district reduced from 6,591 to 6,414.
The district also reported a case of mucormycosis.
Meanwhile, Udupi district recorded 92 fresh cases of Covid-19 and two fatalities, taking the district’s death toll to 387.

Dakshina Kannada District Bus Owners Association president Dilraj Alva told TOI that private buses will ply in the district from July 1.
“We have decided to meet deputy commissioner K V Rajendra on Monday and request for a 25% hike in bus fares, since we have to adhere to the Covid-19 norm of only 50% seating capacity,” he said.
