Daily Drop of Covid Level Slows in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: new cases increased on Wednesday after seeing a drop of two consecutive days since Monday.
The State Health Department reported 1,587 cases compared with 1,544 cases on Tuesday and 1,556 on Monday.
At least 20 districts reported an increase in new cases.
Officials said marginal tides in everyday cases at least 20 districts have slowed the drop rate in the state.
On May 21, Tamil Nadu reported more than 36,000 cases – a peak.
But since then some cases declined and in 26 days on June 16, new cases dropped to 10,000 a day.

But the decline had slowed dramatically,” said Health Secretary J Radhakrishnan.
“As we open, we begin to see new clusters.
While the country will filter and vaccinate, people must continue to adhere to the Covid protocol, he said.
Coimbatore, who reported the highest number of cases on Wednesday, continued to be the only district to report more than 200 cases.
District reported 213 cases, compared with 217 cases reported on Tuesday.
After Coimbatore, was Chennai (179), Erode (117) and Chengalpet (115).
But the highest increase was reported by Thanjavur, where cases increased from 53 On Tuesday to 85 cases on Wednesday.
The number of cases in Krishnagiri rose to 36 out of 14 on Tuesday.
The sharpest decline was seen in Chennai and Tiruvallur.
In Tiruvallur, the case fell from 69 on Tuesday to 51 on Wednesday.
However, At least 17 districts report cases of less than 20.
These include 6 districts of Dindigul, Screens, Tenkasi, Virudhunagar, Ramanathapuram and Theni.
