Lucknow: The state has witnessed a significant increase in dairy units and milk production for the past four years.
Six large investors, including Amul, have invested RS 172 Crore in establishing milk plants.
At present, seven milk plants are in the process of being arranged while 15 investors have offered to arrange units.
Government spokesman said that it rose was the largest milk-producing country in the country and contributed more than 17% of milk production in India.
“In 2016-17, up produced 277.69 lakh tons of milk which increased to 318.63 lakh tons at 2020-21.
The government has begun to establish Greenfield Dairies to increase production.
It is being established in Kanpur, Lucknow, Varanasi, Meerut, Bareilly , Kannauj, Gorakhpur, Firozabad, Ayodhya and Moradabad.
