Hyderabad: Clamping another surprise, chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao said the Dalit Bandhu scheme would be extended to government staff and retired employees in the fourth phase.
However, he said the priority would be given to families belonging to the poorest part of the poor and oppressed in the first phase.
Launched the official Dalit Bandhu scheme in Shalapally Village in the Huzurabad Assembly Constituency on Monday, CM said the Dalit Empowerment (scheme) movement would soon spread like fire to other countries with the demands to implement it there.
“This scheme will get global attention.” Raising the ‘Jai Bhim’ slogan before starting his speech, said KCR Dalits, especially students, must make a big success scheme.
He handed over the check of 10 lakh Rs to 15 Dalit families on that occasion.
For Dalit Bandhu, he said, Rs 1.70 Lakh Crore will be asked to cover all Rs 17 Lakh Dalit in the state.
“If the RS 30,000 Crore to Rs 40,000 is spent, this scheme can be covered throughout the state in the next four years,” he said.
The Rythu Bandhu scheme was launched by CM in Huzurabad three years ago.
CM surprised everyone by revealing Dalit Bandhu from Vasalamarri Village adopted recently, before the official launch Monday.
Attacking Congress and BJP, KCr accused that the parties who did not even spend rupees for downtrodden are now talking about the scheme.
Congress and BJP Prime Minister don’t even think about such a scheme, he said.
When Mission Bhagiratha was launched, the parties expressed doubts but some countries now follow the scheme, which he claimed.
For Dalit Bandhu, he said, Rs 1.70 Lakh Crore will be asked to cover all lakh dalit families in the state.
“If the RS 30,000 Crore to Rs 40,000 is spent, this scheme can be covered throughout the state in the next four years,” he said.
He said the scheme was supposed to be launched last year, but because the pandemic was delayed.
CM said he had launched the Telangana movement and introduced several schemes from Karimnagar and chose to start the scheme from the district again.
CM says with the RS 10 lakh they have, Dalit can start their choice business and can get a double amount within one year.
KCR advised beneficiaries not to take a similar business.
He asked a beneficiary woman about what he would do with the money.
When he said he wanted to set up a milk unit, KCR had everyone parting with his repartee, “Will you present tea when I come to your unit?”
