Jalandhar: After announcing that it will have a Minister of Castle (SC) scheduled in Punjab, BJP now sounds hesitant on the subject.
President Punjab BJP Ashwani Sharma on Tuesday said the decision about CM will be taken by the party parliamentary council at the right time and trying to play the previous announcement by party leaders.
He described the announcement as the “sentiment” expression of leaders.
“BJP is not a regional party or family party.
It has a system.
The parliamentary council will make the right decision at the right time,” Sharma said, responding to the query if BJP will have Sikh or Hindu CM during a press conference at the State Election Office here on Tuesday.
When asked about the National Secretary General of the party and other leaders have announced to have Dalit CM, Sharma said, “Workers expressed sentiment and desire, but the final decision in our party was taken by the Parliament Board.” After being faced that it was not a sentiment expression, but the announcement by the party leaders responsible, he said, “I think I have given the appropriate answer.” On April 14 last year, after Shiromani Akali Dal Sukhbir Singh Badal announced at Jalandhar that if he chose the power of the Sadbsp Alliance Government would have the Minister of Castication (SC) scheduled, BJP Secretary General Tarun Chugh announced a few hours later that BJP would do it.

Then, the other BJP Punjab leaders also repeated or quoted this announcement several times.
A few months later, Congress made Charjit Singh Channi SC first Sikh Cm Punjab.
Sharma, who was also flanked by the Secretary General of the State Party, said the cat came out of the bag about farmers’ problems holding elections.
“For the selection contest is all right.
However, we have said since the beginning that politically motivated agitation, but they say that they have nothing to do with politics.
Now the cat comes out of the bag,” he said.
He added that the results of the Chandigarh MC selection would not affect the election of Punjab.
“Each selection has its own dynamics and inappropriate to see the election of Punjab through the prism of Chandigarh election results,” he said.
