Letter: Complete bandh observed in Dang District on Monday for the deaths of two young men inside the Chikli police station on July 21.
All commercial activities come to the tribal district even when tourists struggle to find food or eat restaurants.
A group of young tribal activists protested and demanded justice for two teenagers.
Children aged 19 years, Sunil Pawar and Ravi Jadha, both of them from Dang, were found depending on a room at the police station.
They were picked up by the police as a suspect in the case of theft of Motorcylce.
So far four policemen includes police inspectors Ajitsinh Vala, Sub-Inspector M B Kamni, Constable Shaktisinh Zala, and Constable Ramji Yadav, has been suspended in connection with this case.
There were no violations that had been registered with the police and investigations were being carried out by the Deputy Inspector of Police, Navsari, S Rana.
The police have so far registered an accidental case of death in connection with two deaths.
“Investigation in cases of unintentional death continues and there is no time limit for investigations.
There are no other actions taken against police officers,” said Rishikesh Upadhyay, police supervisor, Navsari.
The initial investigation revealed that the deceased duo was stored in a separate room and was not locked because they were officially arrested.
Meanwhile, the police claimed that they were hanging into the ceiling fan.
“It is not allowed to make anyone locked in another room except locking.
Magisterial investigations and departmental investigations are also carried out on responsible police,” Upadhyay added.
“Bandh calls are given by the Dang community community.
We demand that their teenagers and families become justice.
Those responsible must be punished,” said Baburao Choriya, Director, Adijati Vikas board.
BJP MLA from Dang Vijay Patel also supports bandh calling it tribal problems.
“All bandh observed in the district and almost all commercial activities remain closed.
People want justice.
I meet family and convince them about deep investigations.”
