Danish PM Mette Frederiksen to visit India from 9-11 October

New Delhi: Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen will visit India from 9 to 11 October where both parties are expected to review progress in the implementation of ‘green strategic partnerships’ set by both parties last year.
Announcing a visit, the External Ministry (MEA) said it is expected to further strengthen and improve close and friendly relationships between the two countries.
The green partnership, completed at the virtual peak between the Prime Minister of the two countries, aims to create a framework for the expansion of significant cooperation in the field of renewable energy, environment, economics, climate change and technology.
MEA said Frederiksen will hold bilateral talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and will also interact with think tanks, students and members of civil society.
He is also scheduled to call President RAM Nath Kovind.
“Visits by Mette Frederiksen will provide both parties to discuss all gamut bilateral relations and review progress in the implementation of ‘green strategic partnerships’.
Both parties will also discuss interested regional and multilateral issues,” MEA said.
India and Denmark have a strong trade and investment bond.
More than 200 Danish companies are present in India and more than 60 Indian companies have a presence in Denmark.
“There is a strong collaboration in the field of renewable energy, clean technology, water management and waste, agriculture and livestock, science and technology, digitalization including ICT, smart city, shipping, etc.,” said MEA in a statement.
