Jammu: demanded the commencement of ‘Darbar Move’, a practice of switching between the capital city of Twin Srinagar and Jammu, the Jammu Party and APNI Kashmir (JKAP) held a temporary sign of a dozen detained on Wednesday.
Led by President Trade Union APNI Ajaz Kazmi, a number of JKAP activists gathered near the press club and held a protest sitting in supporting the party’s demand for the commencement of the traditional ‘Darbar moving.
Then the protesters tried to march towards the city center but were intercepted by the police contingent.
Overcoming the media of the Kazmi said, “We held this protest against the government’s decision to stop the long practice of moving Darbar.” “We impress the government to review their decisions with the best interests of the people,” he added.
JKAP leaders also raised unemployment problems and demanded work packages for unemployed educated youth.
More than a dozen JKAP activists were arrested when they tried to take a rally without permission.
‘Darbar Move’ is traditional practice to shift the civil secretariat and other government offices from the State of Jammu and Kashmir twice a year between Srinagar and Jammu.
Usually when summer is located, the offices in Jammu are closed in the last week of April to reopen in Srinagar in the first week of May.
Likewise with the emergence of winter, the office was closed in Srinagar in the last week of October to be reopened at Jammu in the first week of November.
Move Darbar means that around 10,000 employees who work in the civil secretariat will move along with truck files through 300 km of Jamamu-Srinagar Highway twice every year.
Separate businesses, exercises will cost the government of almost Rs 200 Crore.
Apart from the costs incurred on transportation, the moving staff are also used to pay for travel rates, in addition to settings for their accommodation.
In April this year, Liutenant Governor Jammu & Kashmir Manoj Sinha, suspended Biannual Darbar moved to Srinagar after Pandemic Covid-19.
Then in June, Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha has announced that the government of Jammu and Kashmir have completely turned to the e-office, thus ending the practice of ” Darbar Move ‘Biannual.
“This will save the Government of Rs 200 Crore per year, which will be used for the welfare of the section deprived,” Sinha said.
However, traders and transporters in Jammu have hated decisions that said that the old practice of this century – begins by Maharaja Gulab Singh in 1872, giving a big boost for the hours economically besides developing a bond between two regions.
