From the category which qualifies 60.2% of people in accordance with 85.69,939 people have at least their first dose (around 19 lakh among them getting both doses).
Experts believe that because the vaccine for all age groups is not yet available, it is necessary to achieve the vaccination target that is almost cents for effective protection against the virus.
“We all know that the chain of viruses can be violated when more than 70% of the population has antibodies to the virus and given the fact that around 33% of the population does not qualify for vaccines, we must target sen penny for the remaining population,” said a senior doctor in public health Countries that don’t want to be quoted.
“It’s preterm to state anything because the vaccine for a younger population is likely to be introduced,” he added.
At an average, 60,000-80,000 vaccine doses are given throughout the country every day.
As on Thursday, the government has a stock of 4,14,500 doses of covishield and covaxin, enough to run the drive at a regular speed for the next five days.
Apart from routine supply, awareness among people has also helped the country spoil their journey in urban and rural areas.
