Data will determine the history of the future: Modi PM at the beginning of ‘DIWAS’ audit ‘

New Delhi: Underpointing the importance of audits for good governance, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday said that data was information in the 21st century and stating that in future history it would be determined by data.
Modi Prime Minister who inaugurated Patel Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at the Comtroller Office and Auditor General of India (CAG) and attended the event to mark the first audit of DIWAS in New Delhi, said that in the future, history would be seen and understood through data.
Overcoming the event, the Prime Minister said, “In ancient times, information is communicated through stories.
History is made through stories.
But today in 21st century data is information and in the future, our history will also be visible and understood.

“He said for decades, CAG had an identity as a liaison organization between files and government books.
The Prime Minister said the government had made reforms to increase transparency and easy function.
“Reforms such as Online Applications for Customs without Contact, Automatic Updates, Face Assessment and Services have ended unnecessary government interference.
I am happy that CAG is speeding up changes, modernizing the process.
Today, geographical analysis tools, geo-spatial, Geo-spatial data and satellite imagery are being used, “he added.
DIWAS audits are celebrated to mark the origin of historical CAG institutions and contributions that have been made for governance, transparency and accountability over the past few years.
