Kolkata: Kolkata Municipal Corporation (KMC) was finally set to launch the Dararane Vaccination facility (vaccination at the front door) from next week.
In an effort to reach parents, weak and severe sick people who cannot get out of their homes and get Jab at the city vaccination clinic, the Civic body has announced a scheme two weeks ago.
However, the KMC health department took time before officially launching a scheme when health officials worked on modalities.
Singing Legend Sandhya Mukhopadhyay will be one of the schemes recipients to start.
A descendant of Asutosh Mukhopadhyay and a resident of Bhowanipore will also receive a Jab at home, the KMC Administrator Council Chairman Firhad Judge said on Saturday.
Brass Civic has made small changes in the rules, making it mandatory for the recipient’s family to ensure that a doctor is present when the Civic vaccine manages the dose.
“Shots must be given in the presence of registered medical practitioners to maintain a factor of discomfort from the sick or aged recipient,” said KMC health department official.
However, part of the KMC Health Office official admitted that it would be a difficult job for the recipient’s family to get a doctor who would be at home to observe the effects of the vaccine.
“While we admit that getting a doctor at home in the middle of the pandemic is difficult, we cannot risk because people who are sick can develop complexity after a shot given.
We do not have enough medical officers who can visit households after the assignments of use in vaccination clinics , “said KMC Health Department official.
According to regulations designed by the Ministry of Health KMC, the families of citizens that have been hit by the bed need to approach the nearest KMC vaccination center and order ‘vaccination slots at home’ after showing a medical certificate to clinic medical officers.
After checking the certificate, the medical officer will order the slot and repair the date for the receiver depending on the availability of vaccines.
For residents of Octogenarian, a slot can be ordered by sending a photocopy of the Aadhaar card.
The KMC vaccinator will visit households between 5 pm and 6pm.
Under whatever circumstances, the KMC will take the initiative to manage the shot at home to people and citizens who are under 80 years, said the KMC health department official.
