Ludhiana: On the very first evening of 5pm final time on Monday, investors and food company owners heaved a sigh of relief.
But the confusion prevailed among several town shopkeepers, who didn’t learn about the Sunday dictates of stretching closure time just a day after.
As people have more time to store, traffic snarls weren’t exactly like previous week and have been observed just at several locations, such as the Railway Station Road.
The amount of people thronging the economies, also, wasn’t as large as if the final time was premature, particularly when it was noon.
But some things did not change, like a couple of folks drifting without masks.
Due to fall in coronavirus instances, deputy commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma needed on Sunday declared a few relaxations for both shopkeepers and investors, particularly those from the food industry.
As stated by the new orders, stores, personal offices and other institutions are now able to stay open until 5pm rather than 3pm from Monday to Friday.
Food socket owners, that have been permitted to make home deliveries until 9pm, were allowed to do this on weekends also.
Sunil Mehra, state general secretary of the Punjab Pradesh Beopar Mandal, stated,”We’re grateful to the government for accepting our need and are delighted with the final time of 5pm.

Bhupinder Singh Basant, senior vice-chairman of Punjab Dealers’ Board, stated,”We’re grateful to the DC and also the authorities for permitting home deliveries during the week until 9pm.
It provides a fresh lease of life for our own companies.
We also have proposed to the ministry to permit this comfort in the rest of the areas of Punjab too so the restaurant and hotel business, which has suffered significant losses as a result of pandemic, could be restored.
” Terming the change in timings as a major success for dealers, Gurdeep Singh Gosha, president of Company Bachao Morcha, stated,”Ever since the lockdown came in to effect, we’ve been demanding the final timing of their stores and offices ought to be 5pm.
We tried our best and eventually the government awakened to the envy of those shopkeepers and dealers.
