Day 2 Monsoon: Heavy Rain Sparks Chaos in Delhi Roads

New Delhi: For the second day in a row, rain roads are flooded with roads in places such as Pul Prahladpur, Gandhi Nagar, Bhairon Marg, Pragati Maidan, Azadpur and Vikas Marg on Wednesday.
Traffic was also beaten and the situation was considered worse than on Tuesday with the main Gridlocks in Ito, Dhaula Kuan, Vikas Marg, Najafgarh, Delhi Cantonment, Mehrauli, DND Flyway and Pul Prahladpur.
The program that day mocked PWD claims and the 100% city corporation desilting storm waterways.
While these agents talk about how well the situation was handled on the first day of Monsoon on Tuesday, they were not enthusiastic about Wednesday.
The only saved mercy is Minto Bridge, which has become a symbol of Civic’s negligence with an underpass there pollinishing vehicles even as big as buses every season.
On Wednesday, there was no water accumulation and, as a result there was no traffic congestion, even though the vehicle movement was slow due to rain.
Delhi Traffic Police warned commuters several times during the day on Twitter to avoid certain routes.
“Waterlogging reports in Bhajanpura near Mazar (both CarriageWays).
Please Avoid Stretching,” Read One Tweet.
Read other, “Traffic was affected by Azadpur towards Mukann Chowk because of defecation at Underpass Azadpur.
Please avoid stretches.” But others said, “Traffic was affected by Karkari Mor against Shahdara (both CarrieGeways) near the Nagar Bus Stand Cluster.
under the train bridge because of waterlogging.
” Rasna Kalra was trapped in traffic for more than two hours in Narella.
“There are cars everywhere.
Some people try to retreat to return and it creates more problems,” Kalara said.
“People shouted each other.
My day, as you can see, start with a terrible record.
How much can the traffic police do when there is so much water on the road?” Naresh Wasan continued to take the transfer suggested by the GPS device , hope to reach his workplace faster.
But he was delayed three hours.
Waterlogging is common throughout Delhi.
In Delhi Timur, a complaint related to rain is largely concentrated in the North Shahdara zone, including Yamuna Vihar, Dilshad Garden, Bhajanpura and Karawal Nagar.
Waterlogging was also reported from Geeta Colony in South Shahdara.
Chairman of the committee stands EDMC Satyapal Singh accused that desilting work has not been done correctly by PWD which leads to airlogging in the EDMC area.
“The first rain spell has exposed the PWD claim,” Singh said.
B S Vohra, who heads the East Delhi Front Joint, said that there was no allowance from the waterlogging in the last 30-40 years.
“What is achieved under Plan Master Delhi 2021? Can we expect a better drainage system under MPD 2041?” He asked.
“We were fed up with the blame game spoiled by corporate city and PWD every rainy season.” While a tree fell in the B1 pocket of the Dilshad Park, four similar incidents were reported in South Delhi in Lado Sarai, Chittaranjan Park, Defense Colonies and Janakpuri.
SDMC received complaints from waterlogging from Malviya Nagar, Okhla and Who Building in Ito.
According to Delhi North Municipal Corporation, the pump was deployed to clean water in Rang Mahal, Keshavpuram, Mubarakpur, Sanjay Enclave, Rajan Babu Road, Maglis Park and Park Mohan.
The number of institutions that oversee Delhi’s drainage network is often blamed for annual urban floods.
The corporation manages smaller waterways in residential areas, while PWD carries out the maintenance of waterways along the wider road.
Government Irrigation Delhi & Flood Control Department, DDA and Cantonment Boards also have jurisdiction than other drainage networks.
Recommendations carried out by Delhi Drainage Master Plan, including separating waste and stormwater water sewers, independent certification of desilting work and redesigning troubled drainage points, still no vensions.
