Jaipur: Morning after Diwali, Jaipur residents woke up to toxic fog blankets because the city air quality violated the ‘very poor’ category.
As a result of the total neglect of firecrackers, the Jaipur Air Index Index (AQI) rose to 364 on Friday, the sharpest decline since 2016, the year when AQI monitoring began in the city.
The day before Diwali (November 3), the city AQI was 162.
Previously, the sharpest decline in air quality was reported in 2019 when AQI rose to 290, a day after Diwali, from 158, a day before the festival.
In 2016, 2017 and 2020 (Covid’s arrival), Aqi, the day before and after the festival, did not see many changes in the city.
Not only in Jaipur, AQI also took risks at Jodhpur, Udaipur, City, Ajmer and Pali with a logging amount above 200.
Jodhpur was not much behind Jaipur because AQI touched 342 on Friday, while the city index rose to 304.

From midnight to 8 in the morning on Diwali day, the PM2.5 level was 141.63 micrograms per cubic meter, which rose to 272.51 in the same period the next day on Diwali will be released on Monday.
