Chatra: Two senior administrative district officials drove Pikion and walked for five kilometers while exploring remote villages and was hit to make residents avoid Poppy’s cultivation.
The initiative by Deputy Commissioner Anjali Yadav and police supervisor Ranjan on Saturday was the first A in decades.
During their visit to villages in Remote Kanhacatti Block, Yadav and Ranjan distributed Dhoti-Saree, pedicab and the benefits of other government schemes.
The two officers and their team first reached the village under the border with Bihar.
This area is surrounded by forests and hills and police barely visited these places, giving many opportunities to villagers to grow Poppy.Ranjan said the drone supervision previously confirmed Poppy cultivation in more than 220 hectares of land in Gadiya, Birbira, and Village -Desa around the other.
He said on October 1 last year, Chairman of the Minister of Hemant Soren launched a campaign called ‘Chatra Free Opium’ and the work they did was part of the campaign.
In his speech to the villagers, Yadav said Illegal Poppy cultivation would cost the future of the younger generation and asked villagers to work with administration to remove Poppy and Opium.
He also said that if the villagers did not stay away from illegal activities, decisive action would be taken.
Danjan said they identified those involved in illegal planting to propose the requirements under the law.
“We care for eyes in remote areas through drones,” he said.
Source said the majority of villagers did not even have basic facilities and regional topographic changed it into a safe haven for Maois.
However, there were no major incidents reported from these areas in recent years but it turned out to be able to smuggle drugs.
Moving to Ti on Sunday, Yadav said he was working on a plan to increase the road, making more classrooms to school, making him an Anganwadi model centered and improved the health sub-center.
