NAGPUR: Zonal DCP Lohit Matani has invented a routine of extreme foot patrolling and intermittent course marches in congested lanes and slums during the night hours for distributing audiences as a shield against super spreaders to impose Covid limitations.
This activity by Matani comes at an essential intersection since the society is watching the slow ebbing of this next wave together with the government’s preparation to attack the following one.
Depending on the novel idea of blending health and policing on the series up to handle the following Covid challenge, Matani has guaranteed that officials of six police channels of fundamental Nagpur participate in the foot patrolling or road policing exercises, such as him, covering approximately 10-12 kms at a period of approximately three hours each day.

Matani was simultaneously cracking back on goons through patrolling if he and his crew was able to land up in their doorsteps before running’home hunts’.
The drone has also detained several goons in their homes during these searches and captured weapons also.
Throughout the multi-pronged activity, there’d been crackdowns on anti inflammatory actions also including gambling, bootlegging and narcotics peddling.
“We patrolled dingy lanes along with by-lanes of Mominpura and adjacent localities coming down on goons and anti inflammatory elements.
Authorities have been making sure that the audience thronging parks, grounds and other public areas in the day depart simultaneously,” explained Matani.
The IPS officer said authorities existence acts as a deterrence against offenders preparing to perpetrate a crime.
