New Delhi: Delhi Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on Friday said the celebration of the Puja Chhath will be permitted on the sites appointed in the city except Yamuna River Banks.
Directions are issued in a command released on Friday.
“The Chhath Pooja celebration during November was only permitted on site-appointed sites outside the detention zone with the necessary permits from district judges.
There is no site to be set on the banks of the Yamuna River,” said DDMA order.
DDMA has been on Tuesday giving a nod to allow Puja Chhath in Delhi.
Further authorities said the designated site would be identified and managed by each district judge in coordination with the relevant departmental institutions.
Chhath, celebrated after being diwali by people who belong to Bihar and Timur Uttar Pradesh, involves an ‘Arghya’ offer by fasting women to God deeply.
