DDMA allows passengers to stand on the bus, metro

New Delhi: Delhi Disaster Management Authority on Saturday allows passengers who stand in Delhi Metro and public transportation buses to minimize the use of private vehicles.
This step is intended to reduce air pollution by checking the number of vehicles on the streets.
Minister of Transportation Kailash Gahlot asked Delhi people to move to public transportation and help reduce air pollution.

According to DDMA, transportation orders by Delhi Metro were permitted with a 100% coach seat capacity along with up to 30 passengers standing in a coach.
The movement of intra-state DTC, as well as a cluster bus, is permitted with a 100% seat capacity from the bus along with passengers standing up to 50% of the bus seat capacity.
In terms of buses, the boarding will only be allowed from the back door while de-boarding will only be allowed from the front door.
