Dead cats may come from family 3 in Asola

New Delhi: Officials at Asola Bhatti Wildlife Sanctuary suspect that the leopard died, which was found on Monday morning at Faridabad-Gurugram Road (Pali Road), was one of three cats who had lived in the sanctuary for almost a year.
Since last September, Sanctuary staff have seen leopards near the abandoned mining hole, with both Pug and Visual signs recorded in the area.
Camera traps have recently been installed to monitor their movements, but no images captured, show the possibility of family movements.
Sohail Madan, the center manager of the natural history of Bombay (BNHS) in Asola Bhatti wildlife reserve, said there was a high probability that the leopard was one of the three seen regularly there.
“We will study Leopard carefully and compare it with visual past.
I have not seen the leopard, but the inspection will give an idea of his age and whether it is an adult or teenager.
This special stretch has caused several leopard deaths in recent years,” he added , “The area connects Aravali.
Leopards are also found dead in this stretch in 2015 and 2017.
It emphasizes the need to protect such corridors where animal movements, especially leopards, often,” Madan said.
Asola officials have tracked families for more than six months, most of them declare them as “occupants” of the region after the sightings of leopards often occur.
Recently the appearance had diminished.
Forest officials said reduced disruption last year, because of a pandemic, assisted by habitat enrichment in the form of creation of checks, waterbodies and boundary walls might have played a role in the leopard who came to Bandajat.
This area also has an adequate prey base in the form of monkeys, wolves and nilgais.
Delhi is no stranger to the appearance of leopards.
In the last week of January, the Forestry Department has confirmed the presence of leopards in Najafgarh after the animal pug was seen in the village and approached the sewer.
The cage had also been placed, but the forest official said the leopard returned to that place from the place to come.
In December 2016, a leopard was seen in Yamuna’s biodiversity park in North Delhi.
The animal was captured by the Department of Wildlife and was released in another state.
