Bengaluru: Chairman of the Bukavaraj Bommai Minister on Tuesday set a December-31 deadline to install 3 lamps in Bengaluru.
The consortium led by Shapoorji Pallonji and PVT Ltd companies execute projects on contracts in five phases.
Replying to the question from JD (s) MLA MLA MANJUNATH R, CM says the five phases will be taken simultaneously and must be completed before the end of the year.
“We might even think of disappearing on a contract if the work is not done correctly,” he added.
BBMP can wear RS 1 Lakh penalty a week on contractors for delays, he said.
This project was approved in 2019 to replace the 4.85 lamp street lights with energy-saving LEDs.
The contract was submitted to BSPL, the Shapoorji Pallonji consortium, SMC infrastructure and the ocean electronic system to be run based on public-private partnerships.
“LED lights have been installed in several places, but the work has been postponed in several places for various reasons.
I have instructed officials to ensure all lights were installed before December 31,” said Bommai.
