Kolkata: The West Bengal Petroleum dealer association struck work in Bengal has decided to stick to their daylong plan without purchases – not sold at the fuel station on Tuesday.
Their protest is contrary to the oil marketing company (OMC) does not heed their request to roll-back ethanol blended gasoline (EBP) during the rainy season.
Ethanol becomes a hygroscopic pulling moisture from the air and moist rain and then settles into a separate layer.
The water layer in this underground tank and the vehicle fuel tank causes damage to the Association.
Customers often seek compensation from dealers for damage due to ‘gasoline falsified’, said Snehasish Bhowmik, Vice President of the Association.
The dealer also accused the OMC of the supply of short fuel to the gas station.
“Most of our profitability runs in adjusting fuel revugging during transit that can be 1% of the amount of fuel loaded,” said Pasjist Sen, a joint secretary.
The association will meet the minister of transportation on Tuesday.
The IOC in his statement said their dealers would not be part of a strike like now.
“The city has 21 stations belonging to the company that will operate,” said the statement.
