Greater Noida: The owner of a nursing home in Rabupura where three-failed operations allegedly caused the death of a 28-year-old woman officially arrested on Wednesday, a day after she gave up to the police.
The woman, Poonam, had died at Yatharth Hospital from excessive bleeding.
His family members have accused Rajendra Singh, the owner, is a dukun and Dr.
DRIV Chaudhary, which he called to operate him, did not qualify for operation.
Police GB Nagar said Singh did not have a degree to practice allopathy.
The health department official said he had a BMS degree but was not allowed to run a nursing home and treat patients.
The department also initiated an investigation against Dr.
Chaudhary after the police asked CMO to submit a report on the title, qualification and registration.
Health officials said he held the MBBS and MS degree from Bihar’s Nalanda Medical College and was registered with the Karnataka Medical Council, said Dr.
Pawan, was responsible for the Block Jewar in charge of conducting investigations.
“He is a qualified surgeon who practices calling,” said Dr.
Pawan.
However, Dr.
Chaudhary was not registered in the GB Department of Nagar to allow him to practice personally, he added.
Dr.
Chandan Soni from the Ministry of Health also told TOI that Dr.
Chaudhary did not have mandatory registration.
Poonam’s family, meanwhile, claimed that the nursing home, whose registration was only valid until July this year, actually registered in the name of other MBBS doctors.
Dr.
Pawan said he would visit the facility on Thursday to investigate this problem.
Singh and Dr.
Chaudhary were booked on Tuesday under the IPC 304 section (death due to negligence), 420 (cheating) and 468 (forgery for cheating).
