Death stalking young mind pandemic

Rajkot: In a gloomy reminder to a darker side of the pandemic situation on the young mind, a recent study found that 15 percent of the teenagers harbored suicide tendencies.
In fact, abnormal conditions not only left the young mind in chaos, it also left a deep impression on senior citizens as well as 16 percent of people over 60 dealing with fear of death.
A survey was conducted by the Psychology Department of the University of Saurashtra (SU) at 1,845 people about the issue of suicide and fear of death with direct interactions, telephone talks and Google links.
The study conducted by the Yogesh Jogsan Department Head, Assistant Professor Hasmukh Chavda and Student Nimisha Patel surveyed 450 teenagers, 630 Youth, 414 middle-aged people and 351 parents over the age of 60 years over the age of 60 years.
This survey found 15 percent of adolescents, 11 percent of youth, 4 percent of middle-aged people and seven percent of people over 60 years have a suicide tendency.
Fear will die observed at 7 percent of adolescents, 9 percent of youth, 5 percent of middle-aged people and 16 percent of senior citizens.
“Our survey saw that the pandemic left a deep negative impression on teenagers and parents.
While older people are more afraid of death, the teenagers looked at the existence of a lack of goals because of the field and economic slowdown.
Therefore, the tendency of high suicide in Youth and teenagers, “said Prof.
Jogsan told TI.
According to the survey, the tendency of suicide is clearer among men than women even though females are considered to be more emotional temperament.
The survey explains the reason for this is that the consultation ratio for mental health is 32 percent less in men than women.
Men do not open with friends or doctors who direct them to suicide thinking.
