Hyderabad: The applicant in the case of the Hussainsagar Green Tribunal National (NGT), Dr.
Lubna Sarwath, has presented a satellite image that accuses the demolition of debris from the secretariat used to fill the lake.
The image shows that filling is done from 96 meters to 129 meters.
Dr.
Sarwath said that artificial islands on the lake were violations of regulations.
“The Telangana Government created the islands in the FTL Lake that were not available documents in the public domain also did not have the same committees -Karya which was condemned in progress in the HussainSagar lake, “said Dr.
Sarwath in the petition.
According to the image presented, on May 21, 2020 distance from FTL Pillar 295 to deposits is 96 meters.
On November 1, 2020, the image shows the distance between two points has increased to 102.95 meters.
On May 30, 2021, the image shows more deposits and the distance now increases to 129.12 meters.
“The comparative extract of satellite imagery shows an increase of 35 million soil expansion in the lake,” Dr.
Sarwath said.
The Joint Committee appointed by NGT has submitted a report on June 8 with suggestions and objections about cleaning the lake.
The previous committee report observed that there was a repeat authority failure to repair the gate and weir surplus.
In the latest report, the committee has requested the irrigation department to provide the requested information about FTL and repair Weir surplus near Viceroy Hotel.
“FTL Hussainsagar has been damaged for reducing weir.
Lake beds are exposed and then discarded near the side of Kukatpally Nalla and 10 hectares have been plotted right inside FTL,” Dr.
Sarwath said.
