Gurgaon: The Flyover and underpass built in Atul Kataria Chowk tend to be ready “the latest” in December this year, two years after the initial deadline for November 2019 set for the project.
This was revealed on Wednesday by officials of the Department of Public Works (PWD), which is the Authority of Metropolitan Gurugram (GMDA) has submitted tasks to build structures.
According to officials, around 70% of the work on the project has been completed so far.
“We hope the latest finished work in December.
At present, the only obstruction is type-C ribbon (C-shaped pipe) from the Master of Stormwater Drain GMDA which falls in the underpass alignment.
It must be shifted to the service road.
However, there is an underground cable On the road service that must be moved for this to happen.
Until it shifts, drain stormwater cannot be moved and our work on the underpass section is jammed because of this, “said a senior PWD official at the request of anonymity.
“The work shifts the cable is being carried out through GMDA.
As soon as the cable is moved, the work to move Stormwater waterways will begin,” the official said.
Work on the project has begun in April 2019, and the deadline for November 30 November the same year has been set for its settlement.
This time limit was then revised until 31 October 2020, and further until December 31 this year.
As many as Rs 58.35 Crore is expected to be spent on the project, which includes a lunch of 900 meters-long which will be built between the bus stand and the capasher border, and 700 meters underpass, which will come between the Sheetla Mandir and Maharana Pratap Chowk.
Atul Kataria Chowk is a critical intersection in this city, connecting a large hub like Huda City Metro Station, signature tower, train station, Gurugram stand, and Sheetla Mandir’s eye.
Development of underpasses and flyovers, officials hope, will relieve congestion in the area.
“There is a problem in the Delhi Road (Old Delhi Gurgaon Road) too, where drain 100 m stormwater waits.
We dig there, but then it rains and consequently, the water is filled and everything becomes mud.
When we drain water and dry it, rain Return and the whole recurring cycle.
Isted a month for us, “said PWD officials.
