Mangaluru: Requests from various Hindu organizations to allow Ganeshotsava public celebrations this year will be considered in accordance with central instructions, Karnataka Minister Sunil Kumar said on Monday.
The state government will also conduct a consultation with health experts before making a decision to remember the Covid situation, he told reporters in Udupi.
“Even though the demand for people can be understood, the main task of the government is to protect people’s health,” he said.
The minister said the physical class for students from the ninth grade to the second pre-university course in Udupi Regency will begin soon when the Covid situation increases.
The pepititification of the test in the district has dropped to 1.4 percent in the last three days, he said.
Kumar said private education institutions had been directed to comply with Covid-19 guidelines issued by the government.
All teachers attending classes must be fully vaccinated, he said.
